edysea arose from a natural transformation. Everything essential remained – experience, team, values, and a personal approach. Only the name, visual identity, and the way we tell our story changed.

Our company history began in 1993

Above all, it was the transport of goods to the Russian Federation and transport from the Russian Federation – this market formed the core business of edysea for many years. After turbulent changes in Eastern markets and a sharp decline in trade balance between the EU and the Russian Federation, we successfully adapted to Western European markets as well, which resulted in company growth and increased shipments delivered.

2026

A new chapter: edysea is born

We are expanding the team to 10 people, preparing a new marketing strategy, and launching a comprehensive brand transformation. The company is changing its name and visual identity to edysea s.r.o. and preparing for further growth. Today we offer clients comprehensive solutions across all types of transport – road, maritime, air, rail, and intermodal.

2017

Growth of edysea

After a significant decline in trade balance between the Russian Federation and the European Union in 2015, edysea increasingly focused on markets of the European Union and Turkey and the Balkans, which brought new business opportunities, a wider client portfolio, and an increase in delivered shipments. Subsequently, edysea expands by 3 colleagues and builds internal structures and processes. The company successfully expands its services to include rail transport of shipments to the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan.

2014

Two decades of business

edysea has been operating for 20 years on the market with over 25,000 delivered shipments to/from Eastern European and Asian countries. The Russian Federation remains the most important destination, to/from which over 80% of our performed shipments flow. The company is a modern enterprise, a stable partner to several significant companies, both domestic and foreign. The company reputation, professional and comprehensive services, implemented information technology systems, and effective marketing bring new inquiries daily, from which new business partners are born.

2008

Change of business structure

The company changes its business structure and becomes a legal entity, edysea s.r.o. It begins focusing on providing comprehensive services to clients, offering not only transport services but also customs clearance and warehousing options. The company seeks to optimize its clients costs, and besides full truck shipments (FTL) it begins executing collection services (LTL). The company turnover ranges between 3.5 – 4 million EUR, and delivers over 1,000 shipments to/from the Russian Federation itself, annually.

2002

Know-how gained, processes modernized

Due to new information system capabilities and internet expansion, the company began modernizing internal processes and purchased its first system, which significantly simplified both order records and invoicing. During the first nearly 10 years of market operation, the company acquired broad experience and know-how, which meant a comparative advantage for edysea – bringing continuous increase in inquiries, not only to Russia, but to surrounding countries as well. The company thus increased its market share in other Eastern European and Asian countries.

1995

New experiences, first steps forward

From the beginning, the company was conceived as a family business. The domestic industry during this period did not produce high volumes of goods for Russia. Soon, however, the company created strategic partnerships with foreign companies, which rapidly escalated the volume of performed shipments. However, the company ran into a problem with missing Slovak transport capacity. It was necessary to recruit carriers and train drivers – to be prepared for possible situations when transporting goods to Russia, etc.

1993

Company founding

In this year, Ing. Mária Jendeková decided to start a business and establish a trade license in road freight transport – edysea was born. Based on previous experience as a dispatcher for transport to the USSR, she decided to focus on this region. Considering the fact that after the 1989 revolution, the first entrepreneurs in transport mainly focused on shipments to the west, she saw great potential for growth in Russia. Learning the specifics of the region, customs procedures, bureaucracy, as well as conducting shipments itself was not easy.
